Probably Portugal, mid-18th century, apparently unmarked
The shaped oval vase-shaped ewer repoussé and finely chased with swirling flutes, foliage, mask, fish and rocaille ornament and beneath the spout with a mask of a river god, the cover chased with shell, the scroll handle cast with foliage, the cartouche-shaped basin altered from a shaving-dish and with border chased at intervals with similar masks and rocaille ornament, the centre engraved later with initial E and coronet
