These beds were supplied by Whytock and Reid for Balmanno and are illustrated in Christopher Hussey, The Work of Sir Robert Lorimer, 1931, Fig. 35.
Again the design underlines and enhances subtly the natural character of the wood and the quality of the veneers. The gentle scrolls and curves merely focus the eye on the grain and beauty of the quarter-veneered wood, as was the intention of the architect.
