The case with plain plinth with later mouldings on later bun feet, the rectangular trunk door with circular lenticle, the later pierced giltwood brackets beneath the hood with brass-capped three quarter columns, later pierced wood sound frets to the caddy top, surmounted by a later gallery, a later carved giltwood figure of Atlas and later herald figures, the 30cm. square dial signed Bar Dammant Colchester on the brass chapter ring with later pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with ringed winding holes, decorated date aperture and subsidiary seconds ring, female mask spandrels, the movement with five ringed pillars anchor escapement with inside countwheel strike on bell, case with restorations
