The composition of the present lot is repeated in a picture offered at Charpentier Paris, 5 December 1955, lot 61, with ill., as A. van Utrecht (H. Robels, Frans Snijders, 1989, p.446, noA96), and in a picture offered at Giroux, Brussels, 15 October 1928, lot 62, with ill., as Frans Snijders (Robels, op.cit., under noA96). The present picture appears to be the best of these versions.
