An earthenware lacquered three-piece garniture
Meiji period
Decorated with dark-red, brown and black lacquered glazes and gilt, modelled as oni lifting vessels, one supporting a globular jardinière above his head, the other two resting a large baluster jar on a raised knee, the muscular figures dressed in short capes and skirts, the clothing and vessels applied in relief with various decorative roundels, bangles around the ankles and wrists, the fierce looking horned heads with tightly coiling curls, bushy eyebrows and beard (some damages and repair)
