A French ormolu-mounted, amaranth, marquetry and parquetry display cabinet
The marquetry panel signed E. Martin and dated 1890, Late 19th Century
Of breakfront outline, with a brèche violette marble top, above an egg-and-dart moulding, with a frieze inset with Bacchic mounts, the central panel door inlaid with a marquetry of cranes and foliage on a parquetry ground, signed to the lower right-hand side E. Martin 1890, within an ormolu border with a foliate roundel to each side, the interior fitted with a shelf, flanked to each side by a fluted upright and by a curved glass side door, the interior with a mirrored back and a pair of glass shelves, on a plinth base, hung with lambrequin, on bun feet
