Provenance

Given by the artist to Peter Lanyon in exchange for a drawing of Mullion Harbour, circa 1952, thence to the present owner.

Lot Essay

The previous year, Frost spent several months assisting Barbara Hepworth in her studio working towards the large two-piece 'Contrapuntal Forms' for the Festival of Britian exhibition. From 1951 to 1954 he taught life drawing at Corsham Court.
