1756, the stand with blue interlaced L's mark enclosing date letter D, painter's mark of Buteux, incised cS I to cup and 4 to stand
Painted en camaieu bleu with Cupid playing a lyre and with a torch among clouds, within gilt flower and foliage scroll cartouches, the stand similarly painted with Cupid holding a posy of flowers, the cover with two kidney-shaped panels of trophies and with gilt and white carnation finial, gilt dentil rims (rubbing to inside dentil rim of cup, slight scratching to glaze and minute rubbing to rim of stand, minute chipping to finial)
