The circular top segmentally inlaid with marquetry panels, the centre with two portrait ovals of a man and woman within an hexagonal framework, within an outer border of geometric motifs, the outer part with six large marquetry panels, three centred with an oval monogram, three with a cherub in an oval, each with a smaller panel flanking, inlaid with scrolls and mythological beasts and Bacchic masks, each of the larger panels containing part of the signature on a central ring GUIDO/GOSI/QUERCI/SIENA/FECERO and dated SIENA/1874 in one panel, with a gadrooned edge above a frieze fitted with four drawers, each with a carved panel, on a carved baluster-shaped base, on tripod feet

Gosi, Guidi and Querci were apprentinced to Pietro Giusti and in 1867 he made available a workshop for them in the San Domenico Cloister, shortly after it moved to 31 via della Belle Arti. They exhibited at the National Exhibition in Parma in 1870 and at the Universal Exhibition in Vienna in 1873. In 1874 they exhibited in a number of local exhibitions (see Simone Chiarugi, Botteghe di mobilieri in Toscana, Florence 1994, Vol. I. for a design of cornice made for the Czar of Russia by the partnership in 1873 and Vol. II. pps. 492 and 530 for notes on the individuals.
