The heavy okitenugui [large towel style of helmet] helmet of exaggerated form in crisp russet iron, hineno jikoro of kiritsuke kozane [close fitting neckguard of imitation lamellae] black lacquer, helmet signed Miochin Ototsugu, the black lacquered iron, unusual form eriwa [a separate neck and throat defence] hinged at the centre and with a brief yodarekake [throat defence], the standing collar of iron covered in printed leather, dangaye do [style of cuirass with mixed styles of lacing] of mixed kiritsuke on iyozane [type of lamellae of large rectangular shape] lacquered black, large agemaki bow on the back, chu sode [medium shoulderguards] of kiritsuke kozane, black lacquered oda gote, black lacquered leather kawara haidate [type of thighguard] and black lacquered kara suneate [shinguards without a lining], all laced dark blue
