Each of hexagonal form decorated in various coloured enamels and copper wire with a repeated pattern of stylised chrysanthemums and scrolling foliage, the handles modelled as an elephant's head, the candle holder and the foot rim in silver

These candlesticks were probably made specially to order and are inspired by the works of European silversmiths such as Samuel Morden and Henry Titterton Brockwell, both working in the 1880's in London.
