The body with two large handles, each divided by a line in gilt takazogan, the shoulder with a large band with two blossoming peonies in iroe takazogan and scrolling foliage, and underneath a band of stylised archaic bird motifs, a band of stylised peonies and scrolling foliage, the three flared feet finishing in volutes decorated with stylised ho-o birds, flowers and foliage, the cover decorated with a band of scrolling foliage and a knop finial modelled as an elaborate karashishi on a large ball, some old wear
