ANONYMOUS. Dichiartione della presente geografia di tutta l'Italia. Rome: Giovanni Battista de Rossi, mid-17th century. Royal broadsheet, 374 x 458mm., containing topographical information and distances of stages between major cities of Italy, dedicated to Ambrogio Landucci. (Window-mounted.)
An attractive pairing of a later issue of an important map of Italy with a typographical broadside, both dedicated to Ambrogio Landucci, Bishop of Porfirio. The texts comprise concordance of places, information on the etymology of place names, a brief history of Italy, a description of the Italian islands, geographical notes, and a short description of Rome. There seems to be known about Landucci, and he may well have been the holder of a titular see. (2)
