The case modelled as a fluted cylindrical pedestal with octagonal base, surmounted by a gilt-bronze figure of a naked young girl with a bow, with berried laurel leaf mount circling the base and conforming bezel, leaf and ribbon mount trailing above the white enamel Roman dial with Arabic five minutes, signed to the centre Prosper Roussel Paris, pierced gilt-metal hands, the twin barrel movement with strike on bell, stamped E.M. and 257; and the pair of three-light side candelabra en suite, the foliate cast scroll branches held aloft by figures of amorini; re-gilt
