Provenance: Le Ratz de Lanthene (d. ca. 1770), mathematician (presentation inscription from the author on front flyleaf: "a M de Lanthen de la part de son tres humble serviteur de Voltaire."); Lankinghaufen? (signature and inscription mentioning it was received from Lanthen in 1741).
Second edition. PRESENTATION COPY FROM VOLTAIRE TO THE BELGIAN MATHEMATICIAN LANTHENE. Lanthene corresponded with Voltaire concerning Newton philosophy and published his Lettre M. Voltaire sur son crit intitul: Reponse aux objections contre la philosophie de Neuton in 1739. Wallis 156; Norman 2166.
