The case with brass handle to the inverted bell top, with brass urn finials to the corners, with fretwork panels above the breakarch trunk door, chamfered front angles, arched glazed side panels, top side mouldings lacking, on stepped base with brass ball feet, the brass dial with female mask and bird spandrels to the silvered chapter ring, signed on a plaque to the matted centre Thos. Hughes LONDON, with mock pendulum and date apertures, the arch with silvered strike/silent ring, cut steel hands, the five pillar twin chain fusee movement with verge escapement, strike on bell with pull quarter repeat on a nest of six bells, the backplate elaborately engraved with foliate scrolls around a bird, within hatched border; case with damages and losses
