Fifty-eight stereocards including six tissue-backed, ten hand-tinted, salt or light albumen prints and albumen prints, mounted on grey, buff or white cards, eleven with ink titles in French on mounts, all but one sandwiched in glass mounts, several with black painted surrounds, paper-taped, each titled and numbered in ink on blue or pink paper labels on verso, in original faux-morocco box, numbered 13 in ink inside front cover. Lot Essay

Including portraits of chess-players, a card-player, men and women tasting wine in a wine-cellar, group portraits of hunters around a table drinking wine, five images before and at a ball, a village dance in Italy, a portrait of two young boys playing in a river, a wedding portrait and a woman at a piano. The tissue-backed images include one from the diablerie series, a fishing scene, les grotesques, an interior view of the Vatican and a banquet scene; and several architectural studies and views around Rome including eleven from the same series on white mounts with gilt borders.
