Album containing seventy-six cartes-de-visite and twenty-two cabinet cards, eight hand-tinted, several inscribed and/or dated in ink/pencil and the majority with photographers' printed credits on mounts, loosely inserted in pre-cut window mounts with decorative gilt borders, identified and dated in pencil in a later hand on mounts, bookbinder's printed label Amédée Borrel...Montevideo mounted on front blank, lined in royal blue silk, black morocco, front cover with elaborate geometrical border of blue, red, yellow, black and white enamel on gilt metal, gilt clasps (one missing), g.e., 4to.; with twelve cartes and five cabinet card portraits, including some duplicates. Portraits of the Queen, her consort Prince Albert and her Highland Ghillie and companion, John Brown, many taken at Balmoral. Also including family group portraits; Edward VII, George V and Edward VIII; Edward VII, Czar Nicholas II, Czarina Alexandra and Grand Duchess Olga; Princess Victoria of Hesse, Princess Elizabeth and Princess Alexandra with Queen Victoria.
