Album containing 161 cartes-de-visite including five mounted on both front and back covers behind glazed oval frames, of the remainder two hand-tinted, the majority with the photographer's printed credit on verso, a few re-mounted on modern archival card, loosely mounted in pre-cut window mounts with gilt borders, the majority identified, dated with sitters' birth and death dates and with Silvy's studio reference number in pencil in a later hand on mounts and a few identified in ink on paper labels loosely inserted, maker's label Baxter, Depôt for de la Rue & Co. on front free end, lined in royal blue silk, brown morocco spine, coromandel covers, both covers with five glazed oval frames in gilt metal and four gilt metal bosses, two plain gilt metal clasps stamped E. Baxter 16 Cockspur St., London, (slight cracking to covers), g.e., lge. 4to.; with one carte loosely inserted.
