The binding on this album is nineteenth century Boulle and not cloisonnee enamel as printed in the catalogue.

Lot Essay

A fine French album presented to an Irish Earl and containing a good selection of full-length aristocratic portraits including children, ladies on horseback and gentlemen in military dress. From the sample of cards removed for inspection it would seem that several are by Irish, French or regional British photographers.
