Album containing ninety-eight cartes-de-visite, the majority with photographer's printed credit and occasional pencil inscriptions on mount or on verso, loosely inserted in pre-cut arched top window mounts with gilt borders, occasional titles in pencil on mounts, brown embossed morocco, decorative gilt clasps, g.e., oblong 8vo.

Lot Essay

Portraits include a Spanish Jew, an Eastern Jew, sellers of eggs, water, coffee, tea, sweetmeats, brooms, milk, bread, baskets and toothpicks, group portraits of firemen, 'Dervishes', beggars, Bedouins, Albanians, Gypsies, Turkish priests, 'Turkish Blacks', and a portrait of the Turkish General Omar Pasha.
