Yankee was sailed in England in 1935 by her owner Mr. Gerald B. Lambert, an accomplished and resolute helmsman, sailing every race in the highest sporting spirit. His gallant yacht won 8 firsts, bettered only by Endeavour winning 9. Here the J-class Yankee is shown off the Needles. Mr. Lambert's three-masted schooner Atlantic is making her way westward to the next regatta. She was designed by Frank Cabot Paine to defend the America's Cup and was built by George Lawley and Sons of Boston in 1930.
