The above cap was awarded to the legendary Celtic player Patsy Gallagher who was born in Ramelton, County Donegal on 16th April 1893. He joined Celtic in October 1911 from Clydebank Juniors and between then and 1926 he made 432 League appearances for them scoring 187 goals and 32 Scottish Cup matches scoring 9 goals. His legendary ball control and ingenuity are probably best summed up in his equalising goal for Celtic against Dundee in the 1925 Scottish Cup final: Gallagher received the ball on the half-way line and began making his way towards goal. After several clumsy tackles on him he finally reached the penalty area, only to be knocked-off the ball by the goalkeeper. He quickly regained his balance and with the ball between his feet, somersaulted over the goal-line and into the net.
