A large Imperial globular vase
with widely flaring neck, twin mask handles and high spreading foot, painted and gilt with a shaped panel depicting three gamboling karashishi with ribbons held in their mouths, the reverse with a ho-o in flight, all on a ground of open kiku heads and trailing flowers on a geometric and floral ground, within borders of demi-peony heads, stylised lappets, scale designs and geometric motifs -- 18¾in. (47.6cm.) high, (cracked).
