A 12-inch (32cm.) diameter terrestrial globe, made up of two sets of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores, showing the United States before the purchase of California, Arizone and Texas, (some old cracks due to globe expansion, other abrasions and minor damage), with metal axis, graduated brass meridian circle and hour ring, mounted in English-style four-legged table stand, the papered horizon supported by four turned legs, with cross stretchers, lacking brass centre post -- 18½in. (47cm.) high
