The sitter is depicted in the attire of Johanna of Aragon, after the oil portrait by Raphael, now in the Louvre.
Nicolas-François Dun (Lunéville 1764-1832 Naples) went to Naples about 1790 and painted the Court of King Ferdinand IV of Naples, including celebrities such as Lady Hamilton and Lord Acton.
