A Napoléon III jewelled enamel and gold Presentation Snuff-Box
circa 1860
Rectangular box with rounded corners and slightly concave sides, the lid inset with an oval panel enamelled in translucent blue on a radiating wavy guilloché ground and applied with the initial "N" surmounted by the French Imperial Crown set with rose-cut diamonds, all over engraved with engine-turned panels within burnished gold borders, the base centred by a plain horizontal oval reserve surrounded by flowers and c-scrolls

Charles-Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte (1808-1873), nephew of Emperor Napoléon I, was Emperor of the French as Napoleón III from 1852 until 1870.
