Geneva, circa 1800, maker's mark crowned letter "R", the miniature by Andrew Robertson
Circular box, the independent cover centred by an oval portrait miniature depicting a young lady, facing right in blue-bordered yellow dress with red shawl, curly short brown hair, within a plain gold mount, cover and base enamelled in translucent blue on an engine-turned ground engraved with a wavy radiating sunburst motif, the sides with matching enamelling on a similar wavy engine-turned ground, base and sides with borders of vari-colour paillons, the cover with leaves and flowerheads on a matted ground
