A CARVED CAMEO AGATE SNUFF BOTTLE
OFFICIAL SCHOOL, 1730-1850
One flattened side is carved using an opaque white inclusion with a hawk with turned head standing on one leg on a rock against a brown-speckled, semi-opaque white ground that follows the shape of the rounded rectangular body. The other plain, convex side highlights brown markings in the semi-transparent grey stone.
