A Dirk of The Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders
A very attractive dirk of a Victorian officer, possibly of an auxiliary battalion, with good fullered and notch-backed blade etched with foliate decoration, VR cypher and regimental title, carved and studded bog-oak grip, white metal ferrule and pommel, both decorated with strapwork designs, the latter set with good facetted glass ornament, black leather scabbard with white metal mounts cast with regimental devices and bearing small knife and fork, both with pommel matching that of the dirk.
