A DUTCH GOLD CANE HANDLE
circa 1740/1750, with a Dutch pre-1927 control mark for gold
Cane handle of tapering inversed baluster form, repoussé and chased with architectural scroll cartouches framing Leda and the Swan with Cupid, and a maiden plucking a bunch of grapes watched by a putto, vase of flowers and rocaille ornament between, a radiating motif framed by scrolls on the top
