A Dutch walnut and marquetry longcase clock
The case with later stepped top to the hood, also with later fretwork frieze and side panels, replaced trunk door with lenticle glass and panelling, ebonised inlay to the sides of the trunk and plinth, on plinth with later stepped base and bun feet, the case with 19th century marquetry and replaced veneers, top section of backboard lacking, the 11¼in. square brass dial with engraved border, C-scroll spandrels to the silvered chapter ring signed Abraham Von Aken Amsterdam 1751, the matted centre with ringed winding holes and painted rolling moon, with subsidiary seconds ring centred by the date aperture, the four pillar rack striking movement with anchor escapement; dial and movement associated to case, case basically 18th century and later veneered, dial and movement mid 18th century and with adaptations to movement -- 82½in. (210cm.) high

Lots will be available for collection following transfer to Cadogan Tate on the Friday following the sale and every weekday from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE TO PURCHASERS WHO COLLECT THEIR LOTS WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE SALE.
On the Thursday one week after the sale, a transfer and administration charge of £18.50 per lot will be payable and a storage charge of £3.20 per lot per day will then come into effect. These charges are payable to Cadogan Tate and are subject to VAT and an insurance surcharge.
