Teadust-glazed double-gourd vases are well known, although no other vase of this type with the addition of silver and gilt decoration has been recorded. A related Qianlong-marked teadust-glazed candlestick of broader double-gourd form painted with gilt and silver floral scrolls and with the addition of enamels, is in the Qing court collection, Beijing, illustrated in Monochrome Porcelain, The Complete Collection of Treasures of the Palace Museum, Hong Kong, 1999, pl. 249. Another close comparison is a gilt-decorated hexagonal vase with a Jingde mark, dated to the Qianlong period, in the British Museum, illustrated by S. Vainker, Chinese Pottery and Porcelain, London, 1991, p. 208, pl. 160.
