A George I walnut longcase clock John Snow, London The herringbone-inlaid case with double-footed plinth, break arch trunk door with later escutcheon, the hood with later gilt-wood ball-and-spire finials to the caddy top, glazed sides and -columns flanking the dial signed John Snow, London on a silvered plaque in the arch flanked by dolphin spandrels, the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with ringed winding holes, subsidiary seconds ring and decorated calendar aperture, female mask-and-foliate spandrels, the five pillar movement with anchor escapement and inside count wheel strike on bell; later seatboard 8ft 9ins (267 cm)
