CIRCA 1780, THE DIAL AND MOVEMENT ASSOCIATED
The 12 inch wide brass dial with foliate spandrels and Roman and Arabic chapter ring, plain brass center with engraved brass subsidiary rings for seconds and date, signed Jno. De Jersey Westminster, steel hands, with strike/silent ring above, eight day five-pillar twin train movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; the domed glazed hood with arched waved cornice surmounted by ball and spire finials over a rectangular case with arched door and plinth, decorated overall with foliage, chinoiserie figures and pavilions, with chalk inscription to reverse HOLTZ, lacking pendulum, extensive refreshments to decoration
