A George III fruitwood table clock with pull quarter repeat, circa 1775
The case (formerly ebonised) with brass handle to inverted bell top, silk backed pierced later sound frets to the sides and quarter frets to the front and rear doors, the moulded base raised on later bun feet, with foliate scroll spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with recessed silvered plaque signed George Lindsay/LONDON, blued steel hands, with regulation ring to the arch above, the eight day five pillar movement with single wire fusee movement and verge escapement, with pull quarter repeat on three bells, the back plate engraved with scrolls and signed Geo. Lindsay/Watch Maker/To His MAJESTY -- 16¼in. (41cm.) high to fold of handle
