Shaped box with lobed ends, the hinged cover chased with a scene depicting Perseus attended by Cupid while rescuing Andromeda from the sea-monster, on a frosted ground, surrounded by rocaille scrolls, a fish, hound, bird, and dragon in the four corners representing the four elements, reeded border, framed by outer border simulating snakeskin, frosted gold sides and base simulating suede, slightly raised thumpiece with c-scrolls, the inside of the lid engraved 'Major Thos.
