A GERMAN FLUTED ARMET, IN THE STYLE OF CIRCA 1520
19th Century
With one-piece skull swept slightly to the rear, rising to a very low cabled comb, embossed with broad bands of ten shallow flutes radiating from the rear on both sides, pierced with pairs of lace holes and the neck flanged for turning on the gorget, strongly pointed bellows visor pierced with rows of slotted breaths, and with a pair of hinged cheek-pieces closing at the chin and also flanged for the gorget.
