The design on this card-case is reminiscent to the Gatchina Palace Egg made by Michael Perchin and presented to the Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna by Nicholas II for Easter in 1901, which is regarded as one of Faberg's best compositions. The egg is now in the collection of the Walter's Art Gallery of Baltimore.
