The simple five-plate black lacquered iron head shaved helmet [zu nari] fitted with a broad peak, fixed to the front of the helmet is a lacquered wood demons head with proeminent canine teeth on each side and gilded pupils to the eyes, the lacquer to the head, now a brownish pewter colour was probably originally silver, from the top of the head and covering the entire helmet is a mane of white hair, possibly Yak, through which a pair of gilded wood horns appear, the neckguard of solid plates close fittings in the hineno style and laced in spaced white lacing, lining not disturbed
