Of rectangular form and containing two smaller boxes which nest alongside each other, the exterior with kinji ground decorated on the lid in iro-e takamaki-e and gold togidashi with a scene that may represent Kosagi, one of the paragons of filial piety, stooping at the foot of the Yoro waterfall to gather its miraculous sake in a gourd as the emperor and an attendant look on, the two inner boxes lacquered on the lids in gold togidashi on a roiro ground with cottages in a hilly landscape, the sides of the two boxes kinji, the interiors and bases of the three boxes nashiji
