A LARGE PAIR OF JADE AND HARDSTONE 'CHRYSANTHEMUM PLANTS' IN PORCELAIN JARDINIERES
19TH CENTURY

Each formed from silk thread-wrapped wire stems supporting flowerheads and buds naturalistically carved from white jade, green-splashed jade, chalcedony agate, rose quartz and amethyst centered by colored glass- bead-stamen, surrounded by lightly incised, mostly tripartite, spinach-green jade leaves, all contained within a faceted jardiniere decorated with panels of birds and prunus, cherry-blossom, daffodils, lotus and other flowers with butterflies surrounded by flower sprigs, some losses--approx. 29in.
