Surmounted by chinese figure with parasol, the red waisted case and bracket applied with leafy scroll ormolu mounts, the sides and conforming glazed door applied with ormolu dragons below gadrooned bezel, signed white enamel dial with blue roman chapters and black arabic minute numerals, gilt leafy hands, the movement with verge escapement with adjustable potence, spring suspension to pendulum, striking the hour and half-hour on bell by means of numbered crossed- out countwheel, and a bracket en suite, 1750s--32in. (81.5cm.) high
