A Louis XV style ormolu-mounted rosewood and vernis Martin secretaire- on-stand
Circa 1890
The rectangular pink onyx top above a spreading cornice and hinged fall-front decorated with a Watteauesque scene, opening to reveal a claret velvet-lined interior fitted with a shelf above a pair of drawers, the sides with quarter-veneered panels, the canted angles with espagnolettes, over a wavy apron set to the front with three drawers, on tapering cabriole legs each headed by a pierced 'C'-scroll, on dolphin-cast feet
50½in. (128.3cm.) high; 26in. (66cm.) wide; 13¼in. (33.7cm.) deep
