A LOUIS XVI GREY-PAINTED DEMI-LUNE CONSOLE TABLE

With eared breccha marble top above a fluted frieze, suspended with ribbon-tied floral garlands and centred by a trophy emblematic of love with crossed Cupid's quivers suspended from a ring-turned lion mask, on turned tapering part spirally-gadrooned and part-fluted legs with up-springing acanthus scrolls, joined by a half-starburst stretcher with guilloche panels, the demi-lune centre of the stretcher surmounted by a boldly carved part-fluted neoclassical urn with Vitruvian scrolled border and ribbon-tied garlands suspended from the serpent handles, on turned tapering reeded legs and ball feet, the decoration largely original, the marble top with extensive old repairs, including a patch to the back right hand corner, the back right foot tipped
