A Minton pâte-sur-pâte plate
Year cypher for 1884, impressed marks, retailer's marks for Gilman Collamore & Co.
Decorated by Marc Louis Solon with a nymph wearing loose robes, seated on a stool writing in a book held by Cupid who stands to her side, signed, on a dark-brown ground with a pale-pink border gilt with circles and stylised flowerheads within gilt dentil rim (very minor rubbing to gilding)
9½ in. (24.2 cm.) diam.
