The square bases with shell corners, with a knopped stem, the spool shaped socket with a detachable nozzle, the base engraved with a coat-of-arms, the nozzle engraved with a crest, marked underneath and on socket, the nozzles apparently unmarked

The arms are those of Mitchell impaling Woodyeare or Woodyer, almost certainly for William Mitchell of Camberwell, Surrey and his wife Sarah Woodyer, whom he married at St. Benets church, Pauls Wharf on 18 June 1748. (2)
