The reed-enriched bergeres, with Grecian 'cippus' arms, relate to a 'Library Fauteuil' pattern in George Smith's, Collection of Designs for Household Furniture and Interior Decoration, 1808, pl. 48; and to a Grecian 'library chair' pattern in R. Ackermann's, Repository of the Arts, London, 1810.
