A QINGBAI CARVED PETAL-LOBED BOWL
SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
The bowl has slightly rounded, flared sides that rise to the slightly everted rim, and is carved in the interior with two boys amidst leafy peony scroll, and is covered overall with a glaze of pale blue color that continues over the tapered foot ring and ends in a circle around the unglazed center of the base burnt pale brown in the firing.
8 ½ in. (21.6 cm.) diam.
