Lot Essay

This is a rare example of an early pre-serial number Rigby pistol. D.H.L. Back in Messrs Rigby, 1760-1869 counts fewer than 40 pairs of pistols made prior to 1790. Rigby's did not begin recording serial numbers until 1821, starting with number 5337.
